因應防範南韓MERS疫情擴散蔓延，衛生局昨（九）日在市務會議專案報告因應措施，隨後召開例行記者會中，林永發副市長指出，衛生局平日就已經對於防疫工作建立完整的機制，但為因應韓國MERS疫情升高，也特別規劃在十日及月底分別在衛福部基隆醫院及基隆長庚醫院進行演練，希望更加落實防疫工作及流程，也提醒大家重視疫情。

衛生局長吳澤誠報告指出，目前南韓的疫情仍定義在有限性的人傳人，但似乎有往社區傳染的方向，因此雖然目前台灣對於南韓的旅遊警示仍停留在第二級，但仍非常注意是否會演變成當年SARS那樣的社區感染。

吳澤誠並表示，為因應可能的疫情發展，最重要的就是防疫物資是否足夠，經過衛生局的盤點，全市共有N95口罩二萬七千個，其中直接由衛生局控制並可靈活調度使用的有三千一百個，全身式防護衣共有五千一百套，衛生局控制的有四百套，另外一般隔離衣有四千八百套，至於外科口罩有十六萬個，衛生局直接控制的有三萬四千個。

吳局長還指出，衛生局已指定兩家因應疫情應變的醫院，分別是衛生福利部基隆醫院及基隆長庚醫院，除必須備妥防疫物資外，負壓隔離病房也要隨時可以啟動，其中部基有四間負壓隔離病房、長庚醫院則有二十四間負壓隔離病房。

吳澤誠也強調，基隆為港都，為了達到境外隔絕，衛生局也加強與疾管署基隆辦事處與基隆港務分公司聯繫，落實港口旅客檢疫及客貨輪人員健康管理，萬一有疑似病患將立即送往部立基隆醫院的隔離病房，這些也都是演練項目之一。
